The “O-Man” has been chasing his radio dream all over the country but for the past 14 years has lived in Northern Michigan and now considers himself a true Michigander!  He is ecstatic to be back at KLT!  “It’s a show for The People”, Omelette says!

Here’s some very random facts about Omelette:

  • Arrested at a Debbie Gibson concert.

  • Bungie jumped 280 feet off of a crane.

  • Dressed as a security guard to get into concerts and meet bands in high schoo.l

  • Helped the Florida Panthers to the Stanley Cup Finals because of his “lucky butt”.

  • Hung out with Axl Rose, interviewed Bob Seger, had drinks with Vince Neil (while he was on probation) and sang with Sammy Hagar on stage.

  • Seen Ted Nugent in concert 59 times.

  • Played Buck Hunter with Mark Farner in a bar.

  • Received the Key to the City of Cadillac, Michigan.

  • Lived in his car for a month.

  • Was in “The Sound of Music”, and sang the duet “16 going on 17” at the age of 12.

  • Played himself in the zombie movie “Wade” (2012).

  • Hitch-hiked two hundred miles to see Van Halen.

  • Was classified a “Special Ed” student in grade school.

  • Was featured in GQ magazine (March 2008).

  • Been investigated by Homeland Security because of a radio stunt.

  • As a certified Minister, has married over 30 couples as “Rev. Omelette”.

Joining the Omelette Show each morning is Rick Coates. Rick has a unique and diversified work background, including 35 plus years as a journalist, writer, and media personality. Rick is no stranger to the Omelette Show, having hosted with him in Northern Michigan for several years in the past. He started High School Sports center for ESPN Radio of Northern Michigan and also Tee Time, a weekly radio show focused on golf in Northern Michigan. Rick served as the Contributing Editor to the Northern Express for 22 years. He also contributed works to several other national publications. Rick Coates has lived in Northern Michigan for the past 33 years. Rick has served on several non- profit boards, including as President of Traverse City Little League. He is an active fundraiser for several charities. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, fly fishing, kayaking, snowshoeing, cooking, and reading. He and his wife Caroline have been married for 32 years and have two adult children Caitlin and Joseph.
